The People in Your Life
"man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24 KJV)
Do you ever stop to think about the people in your life?
Some born into, some you welcomed and some handpicked and placed by Christ.
Do you ever stop to think about the role in their lives you play?
Are you a seed sower, a murderer , what would others say?
Would they say you pray for others, the way someone prayed for you,
Or would they say, they see, knife wounds, in the backs of your friends;
by the harsh things you say or do?
Friendship is almost mysterious and can be hard to understand, the same to be said of relationships, but both are the Master’s plan.
Have you ever stopped to wonder, if to be a friend, you have what it takes?
Sure there will be quarrels at times and sure there will be some mistakes.
But true friendship can be difficult because it means loving in spite of you see,
I know to love others it’s hard, I struggle sometimes to love me.
But I know a friend that is true to me and He is the one whom I call,
I have seen Him show up even before I call on Him, at times when I would fall.
I have a friend you see, that sticketh closer than a brother…and although I have some really great friends like Him there is no other.
So today I thought about my friends , in the role I play in their lives, and then I thought about the role they play and that thought made me think twice.
About calling some of them a friend,
It’s like the word love and should not be used lightly,
Although I love most with all my heart, to me it seems sometimes they love slightly.
As I pondered on the days to come and all that God has in store, I realized I can’t expect more from them,
Because even from me, God expects more.
I am so grateful for all of my friends, in the roles they play in my life, and I pray that you know the value of friends, by viewing the example of Christ.
I cherish those in my life for whatever role that they play and I’ll cherish the memories both painful and good for all of my wonderful days.
